Block Jointing Mortar for AAC Blocks

Block Jointing Mortar for AAC Blocks

BX BLOCK

BX Block is a premium, semi-premix, self-curing thin-bed mortar made for jointing AAC (Autoclaved Aerated Concrete) blocks. It is made from high-grade OPC 53 cement, dry graded sand (1 mm down) and specialized polymers, and it gives excellent compressive strength, water retention and stability. BX Block replaces traditional mortars that need a 10-12 mm joint with a 2-3 mm thin-bed application.

Performance

Strength & Adhesion :
Compressive strength (28 days) ≥ 8 N/mm² IS 2250 / ASTM C-109
Splitting tensile strength ≥ 0.40 - 0.5 N/mm² ASTM C-1660-09
Tensile adhesion strength (28 days) ≥ 0.75 N/mm² EN 1348
Pull-off adhesion strength (28 days) ≥ 0.60 N/mm² On hard concrete
HOW TO MIX AND APPLY
  • Surface preparation: make sure the block surface is clean and wet before application.
  • Mixing: mix BX Block with 25-30% water by weight in a clean bucket. Use an electric mixer for 5-10 minutes for a uniform mix.
  • Reaction time: let the mix rest for 5 minutes.
  • Remixing: after standing, remix for 2-3 minutes. It is now ready to apply.
  • Application: spread the mortar evenly on all block sides, keeping a bond thickness of 2-3 mm.
STORAGE AND SAFETY
  • Storage: keep in a dry place, protected from moisture. Do not leave bags open.
  • Safety: use gloves and goggles during application. In case of skin or eye contact, rinse with clean water. Seek medical attention if irritation persists.
